but like most graphical bells and whistles - once you're playing and getting into it you probably wouldn't notice what you're missing. I have witcher on both ps4 and xbox one and I had AMD 8300 FX with a 1050ti and it blew away both consoles. my Intel core i3 and GTX 1050ti runs witcher 3 better than Xbox one x ever can. Man, when I load that up on my OLED vs my monitor, I can't believe that I could ever look at it in SDR and not be distracted by how toned down everything looks. impossible how can pc Max 60fps performance not look better than x box one xs 30 fps, I mean 60fps>30fps very simple. If you start a playthrough on Xbox, you might regret the lack of mods a hundred hours in.Īlso, check out what it looks like in HDR with the digital foundary videos on your TV (not sure if your TV youtube app lets you view HDR), but it might give you an idea of the differences. Having said all that - it's a big game, maybe start your playthrough on PC, you'll have the option of all the mods your heart desires, and if/when they ever do release an HDR patch you'll be able to enjoy it in it's full glory. Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, The Surge and several others - games I own on PC and console, and I can max out (or close to it) at 4k with my PC, I'll fire up the console version instead just because it looks so much better. A year ago I wouldn't have ever imagined I would choose a console over a PC, but these days I'll always choose the version of the game that supports HDR. I'll take HDR over framerate (as long as it's above 30) and resolution.
I bought both versions, played both, and I choose HDR because it makes the biggest impact for me personally. I think it comes down to how important HDR vs framerate and mods are to you.
